Pam Wall serves as the Vice President, Product Development, at the Research riangle Regional Partnership (RTRP).  In this role, she works to preserve and enhance the region’s competitive business climate, infrastructure and quality of life.  She has 27 years management, development, marketing and public relations experience in non-profit and for profit organizations.  In 2000, Pam was recruited as the first Executive Director of Triangle Tomorrow.  In 2003, Triangle Tomorrow partnered with the NC Division of Air Quality to form the first public/private air quality education and outreach organization in the state:  the Triangle Air Awareness Program.  Triangle Tomorrow merged with RTRP in 2005.  RTRP, in continuing the work of Triangle Tomorrow, manages the program as part of the quality of life initiative, which is led by Pam.

Pam led the “Cluster of Innovation” project in partnership with Harvard University’s Michael Porter, the Research Triangle Park Foundation, UNC System President Molly Broad and Washington, DC based Council on Competitiveness. She has led two major regional visioning processes, most recently the Research Triangle Regional Reality Check.

Before relocating to the Research Triangle, Pam served as the executive director of the Asheville-Buncombe VISION, leading the visioning and implementation for the region’s community-based strategic plan.  She was a facilitator for University of North Carolina’s Leadership Asheville and created a five year quality of life initiative, “Let’s Talk! Dialogues For Our Future.”  Previously she served as the Public Relations Director, Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida; Principal, P.J.Cole, LLC.; and Executive Vice President, Denny Gordon & Associates, both Florida marketing firms.

The Missouri native holds a BA in sociology and psychology from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri, and an MA in urban affairs from the St. Louis University School of Public Service.

Wall serves on the North Carolina State University Transportation and Environment Council Gold Circle, Triangle Community Foundation “Triangle Gives Back” task force, Triangle Success Forum, and the Urban Land Institute Triangle Executive Committee.  She was named the News & Observer’s “TarHeel of the Week,” September 28, 2008, for her leadership of the Research Triangle Regional Reality Check visioning project.

Elaine joined the Triangle Air Awareness Program as Program Coordinator February 1, 2011.  Her prior air quality experience includes a consultancy with Environmental Defense defining diesel emissions reduction strategies for North Carolina.  The focus of her work was on school buses and long-haul trucks and depended upon building partnerships with non-profit and government agencies with shared goals.  Among those partners was Triangle Tomorrow, the organization that managed the Triangle Air Awareness Program at that time and which was led by Pam Wall.

Elaine began her career in the environmental sector at World Wildlife Fund (WWF) as a Field Staff Training Specialist.  She supported operations staff in offices in sub-Saharan Africa, Nepal and Bhutan.  While at WWF, Elaine enjoyed travel to each country in her region to conduct training sessions and assessments.

In addition to her work above, Elaine is a former business owner and teacher.  She is a graduate of Wake Forest University and holds an MBA in Global Management from Thunderbird.

 

Jessica Hart Blackwell

Jessica began her six-month assignment as a GlaxoSmithKline PULSE Volunteer with Triangle Air Awareness in June 2011.  Jessica works on the distribution of The Adventures of Clair and CAM, our air quality education curriculum for grades K-5, to schools throughout the 13-county Research Triangle Region.  She also coordinates appearances by the program’s mascots, Clair, the Clean Air Explorer, and CAM, the Clean Air Maniac, and develops marketing materials around the mascot program.

Jessica is a Durham native and has worked at GlaxoSmithKline for the past nine years in the Research and Development Department.  She graduated from North Carolina Central University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration.  Jessica also earned a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Duke University’s Department of Continuing Education.

She is a member of the Southside Community Board, a low-income area of Durham, North Carolina, and has coordinated health fairs, community outreach events and job fairs for the area.  She enjoys participating in Science Day events in area schools where she encourages students to pursue careers in science.  Jessica is excited to be working for Triangle Air Awareness!
